Evan Adamson is an award winning set designer for musicals, plays, opera, and live entertainment, with 20 years of experience in the industry. He has designed productions throughout the United States, and has worked extensively abroad in Europe and Asia. A lifelong resident of New York, he currently resides in Manhattan.
As an Associate Set Designer, he has worked on Leopoldstadt (des. Richard Hudson) and Hello, Dolly! (des Santo Loquasto), and Illinoise des. Adam Rigg) which is currently running on Broadway. His design of A Christmas Carol garnered the Big Easy Award for Best Set Design in 2019. Little Shop of Horrors and Mamma Mia were also honored with Florida's Broadway World Awards for Best Set Design in 2019 & 2018, respectively. |
Over the past 10 years, Evan has consistently worked on Broadway, contributing to a wide range of productions, many of which subsequently toured the country. As an Associate Scenic Designer, he has worked alongside renown artists: Es Devlin, Julian Crouch, and Bob Crowley, among many others. Most significantly, he has had the unique pleasure of a half decade long collaboration with Santo Loquasto, whom he has worked together with on 6 Broadway shows over the past 6 years, in addition to 3 upcoming productions. Collectively, Evan has a total of 20 Broadway Credits, more than half of which were nominated for, or won the Tony Award for Best Set Design. |
Evan has had the honor and pleasure of working extensively abroad, in both Europe and Asia, on 16 productions in 10 different countries.
He has contributed to several significant productions with the acclaimed Stage Entertainment, Most notably, the inaugural production of Beauty and the Beast at Teatro Nazionale in Milan, Stage Entertainment's first theatre in Italy. The production's success, subsequently brought Beauty and the Beast to Rome, inaugurating Teatro Branccio, SE's second theatre in Italy.
Additionally with Stage Entertainment, the original production of Der Schuh des Manitu, premiering in Berlin, Germany and the massively successful Ich war noch niemals in New York - a musical featuring the songs of Udo Jürgens, which was produced in the 3 different, German speaking countries and also made into a movie.
Other international highlights include the first Non-English language performance of Once, in Seoul, South Korea; the first international production of Aladdin, in Tokyo, and serving as a draftsperson for the Emmy nomimated Opening Ceremony of the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
